The CODMn method employs potassium permanganate oxidation spectrophotometry. The sample is heated in a water bath for 20 minutes, during which potassium permanganate oxidizes organic pollutants. The amount of potassium permanganate consumed during this process serves as an indicator of pollutant levels.
